Why Can't My Body Just BEHAVE????

Just as things are hip world as as close to perfect as I could have dreamed, I have developed numbness and tingling in my left hand/arm. All I can say is SHIT. I think it has started to improve, but I have no idea what to do, who to see (other than NOT a surgeon). Initially my fingers were going numb but now it has moved into my hand and elbow, so it is centralizing, a good sign.

We went to a party last night, I wore high heeled boots from 8:00-1:30, not a peep from my hips!
52 Sundays ago, I was home, having my closets redone, begging the guy installing them to finish quickly bc I was having surgery in the morning and would not be able to finish organizing them past today. Boy have we come a long way!

What-you have that too? I've just spent the last 21 months with that tingling and numbness in my left hand/arm/elbow (as well as horrible nerve pain all down). Finally have a surgeon appointment end of April to see what he will say. Do you think you've irritated it by something you did or do you think you have damaged the nerve somewhere?

I hope for you that it just settles down and goes away soon! Its annoying, a pain and just weird because of the loss of feeling and movement issues!

I cant believe you're wearing your heels with no troubles though...how come I cant do that yet? lol

Susie, sorry to hear you're having other issues to deal with! Seems like one thing after the other! Hope it comes right soon, maybe you have inflamed something that is impinging (argh, that ghastly word) on a nerve, try some anti-inflammatories and see how you go :-)
Great news about the heels! Maybe you should celebrate buy treating yourself to a new pair hehe ;-)

I think I am having an ulnar nerve entrapment (nicer word Jess) at my elbow. But, at times, I have pain in other nerve distributions, not most of the time though. I am pretty annoyed at the moment, more than anything. I do NOT want to see a surgeon though. At the moment, I am staying conservative and seeing my acupuncturist this week. I have 2 docs in mind that I will see if this does not clear up. One is a neurologist who specializes in peripheral neuropathy, recomended by a blog reader in an email to me, the other is a pain/ rehad med guy at HSS who specializes in electro-diagnostics. Things do seem to be improving though. Felicia, what do you think is wrong with you?

Susie according to nerve conduction studies, my ulnar nerve is compressed somewhere in my elbow region, I've had symptoms ever since I landed on it. Its going on 2 years now and I really want to know if anything can be done to sort it out, nothing conservative made any difference but the meds I'm on at the moment for rsd are semi helping the pain issue. I dont really know what to expect from the surgeon at this stage...

When I was researching conservative options, I did't find any. I did find surgical options though, like epicondylectomy. That was when I shut off the computer...no thanks...no more surgeries at this time. Luckily my symptoms do seem to be improving a little bit each day.
