Unbelievable! I had better move up the date of my surgery before UHC changes their minds! Thanks, Susie, for all you have done towards this cause!

Hi Susie -

What a wonderful piece of news as I was in bed using my CPM machine and Ice Machine...I had my surgery last Friday...AND I have UHC ...had been trying to get psyched up for my upcoming battle with UHC...and now it looks like I don't have to!

Thanks to all of you who have made this happen! Truly awesome accomplishment!

Susie, I don't know you or your fight, but whatever you did to contribute to UHC changing their policy, I applaud. I have Aetna, who is still holding out...but now they have additional pressure since they are the last big insurance company to still tag FAI experimental, thanks to UHC's change in policy. I'm starting my fight with Aetna now - sure hope I see them change their policy this year!

Any luck with Aetna? I go back to the doc next week and believe I will be fighting the same battle.

Susie-
Thank you for such a wonderful blog! I have had a hard time find other people who have FAI and have gone through surgery as well as recovery. The attachment was music to my ears! I was approved by UHC for my labral repair in late January and am having surgery in two weeks.
UHC has been really great in approving things and has even ended up covering a lot more of my costs than I had originally thought.
What has your experience been with your Surgeon and the UHC deductible? My Surgeon's office is trying to collect the entire deductible up front.
Lots more to sort out before surgery...i'm bookmarking your blog right now!
Cheers,
Anna
